Objective of this Program

The objective of a foundation course in VLSI & Embedded from the 3rd year of the engineering is to provide students with a strong foundation in the fundamental concepts and skills required for VLSI & Embedded design. The course may include lectures, lab exercises, design projects, and exams to assess students' knowledge and understanding.

To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the basic principles and practices of VLSI design, including digital logic design, semiconductor technology, transistor-level circuit design, layout and routing, verification and testing, and system-on-chip (SoC) design.
To enable students to apply their knowledge of VLSI design to embedded systems design, including microcontroller architectures, system interfaces, device drivers, and real-time operating systems.
To develop students' skills in using computer-aided design (CAD) tools and techniques for VLSI and embedded systems design, such as electronic design automation (EDA) software, simulation tools, and debuggers.
To provide students with hands-on experience in VLSI and embedded systems design through lab exercises, design projects, and other practical activities.
To foster students' ability to work collaboratively in teams and to communicate effectively with others in the field of VLSI and embedded systems design.
To prepare students for advanced studies or careers in VLSI and embedded systems design, including positions such as VLSI design engineer, embedded systems engineer, or firmware engineer.
